a poem on 27 years of 4 pictures

Many years ago good friends of the family, Jon & Pam, received a card with a drawing on the frount that they felt looked very much like my younger sister, Andrea and their daughter Opal...Jon took a photo of Andrea and Opal in the same pose to reflect the card...Years past Opal now a teenager and Andrea with a daughter, Samantha...so Jon took another photo of Opal and Samantha in the same attitude...Years past and Samantha, a teenager now, poses with Opal's daughter Moyia (sp?). Here is the poem I wrote on the chain of pictures approx. 27 years in the making...

                                                                                                                                                               Generations
She looked just like the picture on the card
His daughter held gently in her arms
Duplicating the scene was not that hard
The photograph reflected all the card’s charm

Generations come and go
The years fly by, children grow
All things change but still remain the same

Years have passed, the child stands
Poses as the young girl did many years ago
With the girl’s child clasped by grown hand
A facsimile of the card and photo to show

Generations come and go
The years fly by, children grow
All things change but still remain the same

Time marches on – the child grows fast
Affecting the position of those done before
The young one of the first child held in her grasp
Generations the card caused some to explore

Generations come and go
The years fly by, children grow
All things change but still remain the
