Repeditive Phrase Poetry

Ok two in a row - trying to make up for lost time in my postings. I've been finding lately that I have been using a repeditive phrase (or word) as the focus point of much of my poemes lately rather than concentrating on the ryme or meter of the poem. Now this can be a powerful tool or it can be very annoying as when used in song and it seems like the composer was not imaginative enough to say anything else than one phrase over and over and over again in for 2 to 3 minutes - that is when I change the radio station and search for a more appealing song with intelegent creative lyrics. I hope that most of these poems do not fall into the uncreative, annoying catagory...

The Truth can make us free from sin
The Truth is more valuable than my life has been
The Truth does show us how to live
The Truth reveals all the love God has to give
The Truth tells us of Yahweh’s only son
How in His kingdom we may all be one

“Follow Him” did the voice cry
For you are privileged to be called
Follow Him and not a lie
For it is better to be sons of God
Follow Him and what he saith –
This is instruction from the Father
Follow Him with perfect faith
With the world do not bother
Follow Him  - the Truth defend
Through all manners of persecution
Follow Him to the very end
For in Him is death’s solution

Rejoice in God our Father in heaven
Rejoice in life, which He has given
Rejoice in sorrow to be gone tomorrow
Rejoice with gladness burst forth in song
Rejoice; rejoice all the daylong

At the time of his birth
He held on
When he wrestled with an angel
He held on
Until he finished his last charge
He held on
Jacob held on until the end
In Israel were the promises met
He held on

Tic toc, tic toc goes the clock – so slow the time – when will it pass by?
Toc tic, toc tic I’m mentally sick – I hear voices – why do they all cry?
Tic tic, toc toc crows the clock – deny the time – when will I die?
Toc toc, tic tic the sound dose stick – heavenly voices tell me when where and why!

So many words to say so little
So many words that only belittle
So many words to fill up time
So many words for truth we pine
So many words to lose the way
So many words with nothing to say

A time of trouble
A time of trial
Such as never has been had
A time of blessing
A time of hope
The doing away with all that is bad
A time of glory
A time of peace
No more will anyone be sad

“How long?” is our cry
“How long?” we ask why
How long until He comes?
How long when we’ll be one?
How long will sin abound?
How long till the trumpet sound?
How long for the promised day?
How long – why stay away?
How long? we daily wait
How long our ways made straight?
“How long?” we bow and pray
How long please come today!

Come unto me all who are burdened with care
Come unto me all who want my glory to share
Come unto me to find the perfect rest
Come unto me and be guided through each test
Come unto me is the Son’s plead to all
Go unto Him and answer His Father’s call

Notes to remember who builds your dwelling
Except the LORD build it, the work is vain
The same with a community its buying and selling
Except the LORD keep it, its safety is vain
As individuals where is our thrust
Except it be in the LORD, then hope is gone
Then build and work and in the LORD trust
Expecting with grace to be of the LORD’s glorious throng

Out of the depths do we cry for forgiveness
Out of the depths do we trust in Your Way
Out of the depths is our trust fortified
Out of the depths is our hope for the day
Out of the depths can we see Thy love
Out of the depths can faith be strengthened
Out of the depths do we look up above
God shall lift those who wait – out of the depths

Exhorting is not for one to speak
Exhortations are not only given once a week
“Exhort one another daily” is the call
Exhort one another so hope is given to all
Exhortation is for strengthening one another
Exhorting to guide all under Christ’s loving cover
Exhort to help avoid a life given to sin
Exhort to have weapons to fight the battle within
Exhort to build up love, hope and faith
Exhorting to show in Who’s arms we are safe

Prayer (Exhort by Bro. Cliff Terrell)

Prayer shows a humble heart
How our Father helps us in every part
Pray with thanks for stupid mistakes
Admit our shortcomings for grace to partake
Pray for faith, for trust, for strength
To fight against flesh – pray at length
Pray at morning, noon and night
Never let prayer be out of sight
Prayer is how we communicate with Yah
Prayer is essential to you and I
Prayer should be part of all our days
Prayer helps keep us on the Way
Prayer has been there from the beginning
Prayer gains forgiveness for the sinning
Pray for understanding of God’s plan
Showing His glory to others as best you can
Pray for a part of God’s coming kingdom
When all the faithful will pray as one

(Exhortation – Bro. George Booker 12/27/09)
“Thy Kingdom come” the prayer through time
From the time that man fell away
“Thy Kingdome come” for God’s glory to shine
When faithful will be redeemed on that day
“Thy Kingdome come” Heal the world form sin
Heal the dumb, the blind and the lame
“Thy Kingdom come” Thy grace lets us in
Eternal life through mercy is the gain
“Thy Kingdom come” forgive our wrong
As we show forth Thy mercy to others
“Thy Kingdom come” make the faithful strong
Sharing our hope with our sisters and brothers
“Thy Kingdome come” “Thy will be done”
“Thy Kingdom come” where we are all one

(Exhortation by Bro. Joe Banta)
Fear not what men can do to you
Trust in the LORD your faith to prove
Fear not the courts, the world trusts in
Yahweh rules in the kingdom of men
Fear not to tell others of God’s truth
Our hope, His word is our proof
Fear not from the world to separate
Death and destruction is their fate
Fear not to dedicate your life to the LORD
To seek with wisdom to understand His word
Fear not to love the Heavenly Father
Glorify Him – for life to go farther
Fear not to reverence the Holy One
Confidant of the kingdom to come

(SS by Bro. George Booker)
Rom. 8: 31 – 39
If God is for us
We are not overcome by stress
If God is for us
We are not defeated by fear
If God is for us
We are with faith blessed
If God is for us
We hold His way dear
If God is for us
We overcome all temptation
If God is for us
We can face all peril or sword
If God is for us
We believe in our salvation
If God is for us
We follow only what is in God’s word
If God is for us
We conquer our flesh and sin
If God is for us
We are not separated from His love
If God is for us
We have faith and hope within
If God is for us
Chirst is our mediator above

(Exhortation by Bro. Stephen Palmer)

Reflect on the labour of Christ’s ministry
Reflect on how it changes you and me
Reflect on the mericales He performed
Reflect on how He took burdens as His own
Reflect on why we are healed by His touch
Reflect on how we need His grace so much
Reflect on Christ, His love, His sacrifice
Reflect in faith how He gives us life

It is easy to say “I have faith”
But do we prove it in our daily race?
It is easy to say “I pray daily”
Do we believe God Hears us, really?
It is easy to say “I’m keep from wrong”
Is the word there daily to keep us strong?
It is easy to say “I believe in grace”
Is God the center of all our time and space?
It is easy to say “I will sacrifice”
But are we willing to pay such a price?
It is easy to say “I the LORD will seek”
Do our actions show a heart true and meek?
It is easy to say “I follow the Son”
With His brethern fellowshipped as one!

(Exhortation by Bro. Antonio Howell)
When oppressed by worldly ways
Trust in the LORD
When depressed by cloudy days
Trust in the LORD
When others continue to do you wrong
Trust in the LORD
When your faith is weak – not strong
Trust in the LORD
When you pray – seek for guidance
Trust in the LORD
When you have blessings in abundance
Trust in the LORD
When called to manifest Christ’s sacrifice
Trust in the LORD
When giving all to God – all our lives
Trust in the LORD
