It has been ages since I've updated this blog - been writing lots of poems and uploading them to Facebook but not to here so here are a few that I've been writing.

Bro. George Booker gave a great exhortation on 'playing hide and seek' with God - we have to do the searching....here is my summary of it

Exhortation by Bro. George Booker
“Playing Hide & Seek”

From the beginning man from God tried to, himself hide
Adam and Eve, Cain, Jonah, many others beside
God always knows where we are, what’s in our minds
He hides Himself, so we must seek for God to find

Our Creator wants us to search for Him in all situations
In times of joyous plenty, or when surrounded by temptations
We must seek Him when our bodies start to fail
Through every joy, every sorrow, every light, every gale

We must look to see in all creation our Loving Father
For He watches over us in sunshine and stormy weather
The blessings God daily bestows, search for with open heart
Find His glory; see it ahead in the Kingdom to take part

Seek our Savior - from Him do not be hidden
Open your life – follow The Way as God has bidden

Sing – God’s judgment surely comes
Shout – the worldly way defeated
See – the great day approach
Seek – the way to God’s mercy
Strength – for those who are faithful
Speak – only of God’s glory
Stand – fast until the very end
Spread – God’s love to every man
Sin – shall be totally destroyed
Sorrow – by hearts no more employed
Salvation – through the promised One
Stone – the chief of our foundation
Stripes – what the beloved for us endured
Son – Jesus Christ, we live through Him

Bro. Joe Hill gave a very fascinating exhortation on the Gospel shown in Revelation...here is my summary...

Exhortation by Bro. Joe Hill
“The Gospel in Revelation”

Holy name of God revealed
In He Who was and is and is to come
Mercy given to Jew and Gentile alike

Sacrifice of Christ clearly shown
Represented in the blood of the Lamb
For those who stand firm unto the end

Resurrection of the faithful Saints
To rule with the King from New Jerusalem
Glorious lights shining for endless days

Worthy found written in the Book of Life
Clothed in white, reflecting Alpha and Omega
The Multitudinous Christ filling God’s Kingdom

It has been much too long a time from my last posting - and a couple of people have mentioned that I need to do an update.
Well here it is...poems about my thoughts and emotions in the past while I've been frustrated, scared, and very worried about different events in my life. Frustrated with co-workers and work in general, scared that my life would be taking a left turn instead of a right, and worried about my green card renewal. The last one I came to realize I was making mountains out of molehills...

When there is nothing left to do or say
When the week the day the hour don’t go your way
Think about the sun that shines
All the things that just turned out fine
Putting a little happy at the end of your day

When feeling surrounded, put upon, oppressed
When every deed, task, obstacle leads to stress
Think about a day with some time to yourself
Where you can store, hoard a treasure of joyful wealth
So when trouble comes it will bother you less

Frustration with computer troubles
 Frustration mistakes make it double
 Frustration with officials that travel
Frustration not solved with a gavel
 Frustration labels are off kilter
Frustration make sure mouth has a filter
 Frustration time is slowing down
 Frustration turns smiles into frowns
Frustration need to look at positive side
Frustration leads to an emotional ride
Frustration – hope it will all go away
Elation – waking up to a wonderful new day

My March 25, 2013 Worries

People say: “Worry not what tomorrow brings.”
But ahead is the unknown – easy to fear at the unseen
Though others have gone before, to my worries I still cling

Easy to say: “Let it go, make not mountains of molehills”
I let panic overtake, blinding fear becomes obscene
So until tomorrow is past – worry will continue to make me ill

When I’ve faced tomorrow’s hurdle say: “I told you so”
Hopefully before then my faith and trust will be redeemed
And all my tiny worries and fears, I will quickly outgrow

Wow it has been awhile - and I have not been idle with my writing/scribbles...First I was blessed to attend Bible School in July with three excellent teachers who inspired me to write for every class that I attended (missed one class due to illness) Now I just have to remember to follow the wonderful exhortational points that all of these teachers made...

SWCBS  2012 Class Summaries

Stephen Mansfield – Exhortation

When we move through our moments of heart break,
When our faith is low, we lose a hope in life to take.
If we continue on the Word to think and meditate,
We will realize it is for our learning, not the Lord to forsake

When we communicate the things of the Truth, the Word,
When our ears are open, God’s purpose is clearly heard.
If we completely trust in His mercy, our joy assured.
We will feel the cleansing, see the time we will be pure.

No matter the trouble that threatens to overcome us,
God’s love gives us hope through His Son’s sacrifice.
Focus intently on the day when those asleep first will rise,
When Christ on the Throne will be reflected, burning in all our lives

Stephen Mansfield-Class 1- 1 Corinthians 1-3 “Unity”

What keeps believers from the fellowship of unity
Do we argue, disagree just because of personality?
Put first the One god, One truth, One Faith to work together
Then in unity experience, the hope, the grace, the peace of forever.

Who thinks themselves more knowledgeable than fellow believers?
This can cause dissention and promote self-deceivers
Encourage your brethren remember to walk and work together
Then in unity with Godly wisdom enter the Kingdom forever.

How can your works and actions cause others to stumble?
When self-centered, not thinking of others – this causes trouble.
Esteem other better than self, and then work together
Then in unity you will put away foolishness and see life forever.

Stephen Mansfield Class 3 – 1 Cor 8-10 “Conscience”

How does your conscience prick at you?
In all you think, speak and do?
How do you actions affect your brethren?
It may be “ok” for you, but make others become fallen.

Our conscience is to be guided by love for others,
Be aware that Christ wants us to help our brothers
So that all together may enter the kingdom
In this love of Christ we have true freedom.

Let your conscience make you esteem others,
So that by pride you are not bound or fettered better
To the believers reflect the love of the father,
This is how you show your love of the Creator

Carl Parry Class 3 James 5:13-20

Trust that God hears the prayer
Of those who continue in patience with well doing
Believe the afflicted’s plans are heard
Through joy or trial, God is ever loving

Know that prayer will save the sick
If of faith, in unity, of God’s will
Understand mercy come from God’s grace
All things work together His purpose to fulfill.

Have faith, prayer resolves much
Confess, forgive, to heal conflict.
Pray fervently for peaceful accord.
So in unity righteousness comes into effect.

See that earnest prayer is heard
Prayer has had days and weather changed
Blinded enemies, made faithful to see
The way to salvation through prayer arranged.

The force of righteous prayer – we must trust,
The effect of fervent prayer  - we believe.
The prayer of confession – needful for us.
The prayer of an earnest heart – results we see.

Dave Jennings Class 3 Forgiveness

Faith of old dealt with temptation,
They needed other to build up, lean on.
Do we seek help for troubles we face?
Can others rely on us to help run the race?

The spirit of forgiveness should be displayed
By faithful witnesses of God’s way.
To forgive gives freedom to show both sides,
Reconciled to move toward a call more lofty

Forgiveness does not mean the sin continues,
But attitude change corrected the issues.
Now all can work together for life more spiritual,
The work in the Truth more effectual.

With no forgiveness – there is division.
With no forgiveness – hinders reconciliation.
For with forgiveness – builds hope and trust.
For with forgiveness – faith strengthened in us

To bring His peace cast out worry.

End the day with prayers of thanksgiving
The grace, the blessings we are giving
The hope of a life everlasting
The beloved Son who is risen.

Remember in prayer fellow believers
The labors who help others in the Way
Pray that none lot to deceivers
That all be found worthy in that Day.

Dave Jennings Class 5

Delivering Unto Satan

Discipline is to open the eyes
Be made aware where the problems lie.
We put away one who will not listen
That they may learn the consequence of their sin.

Delivering one to the adversary
It is for them and us of the wrong to beware
For fleshly deeds can cause such distraction
If we do not separate with Godly instructions.

Disfellowship done in agape, love
Not by selfish pride but the will above
Must not allow the in to fester
Making to stumble other brethren and sisters.

The sooner the sinner is put away,
Faster they will learn the wrongs of their way
Their deeds no longer cause Ecclesial corruption
Letting God work to bring them back to salvation.
